March 9 - Always on the Brink
General catch-up and 21st-Century Music work before the rest of the daylight hours (and they are mercifully increasing, of course) are given over the errands and such, first swinging by DVC then over the Cummings Skyway to
80 north and
37 west, making arrangements for standard vehicular maintenance in Novato,
then south to
San Rafael
for waredrobe
replentishment,
stopping by
Melissa's office to make an appointment,
and
winding up at Celia's for paper grading.
The return trip becomes an extraordinarilly
circuitous one,
west on
Lucas Valley
Road,
over
Big Rock
Pass,
to
Nicasio,
lingering
by
Old Saint Mary's and the
Rancho
in
the
square,
proceeding apace
to the
Reservoir,
then
northeast
on the
Point Reyes - Petaluma
path through
Hicks,
past the western end of
Novato Boulevard,
and the
eastern towards Chileno and environs,
down the slope into Sonoma, and thence to Napa and beyond.
Round up the usual suspicious musical subjects upon return, to wit:
pdf Merton Songs (31),
composition of Psalm 89 (7) and The Decameron (40)
editing Symphony No. 3 (251-260)
+ finish reading Volume 14 of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians (1980).
And a sixth "summer day" for the year thus far, with a high of 72 (71 in San Rafael).
Now at 91 MB (8.93%) of the 1024 MB -- with three weeks and two days room to spare...
