January 1 - Forward
To the New Year!, already looking towards spring shows, and continuing from markalburger2011.blogspot.com -- Harriet and all having successfully negotiated our way through the New Music concert-party last night, and now catching up with other matters, including pdf of page 25 Street Songs, composing a third system of Psalm 83, and designing this new blog (learning about pixel resizing on the Macbook, and all sorts of new-design items) ...
Also finish a re-perusal of Samuel Beckett's Molloy, Malone Dies, and The Unnamable, the latter with its notable conclusion: "Where I am, I don't know, I'll never know, in the silence you don't know, you must go on, I can't go on, I'll go on."
Harriet takes off to Laverne's on business in the early evening (the farthest I travel is to the car to unload the rest of the party paraphernalia, etc., from last night), while the ridiculously delinquent print version of 21st-Century Music, May 2011, is finished with the conclusion of the Belinda Reynolds interview (or Part I, at least). Pdf it, and send off to printer's. While on email, great to hear from Lukas Ligeti again, plus Robert Ashens, Doreen Burgin, Alison Collins, Ernesto Diaz-Infante, Monika Gruber, Mazdak Khamda, John McGinn, Andrew Shapiro, and, most wonderfully, Lisa Lee, who checks in with a long note and will be in town next week -- so we make plans to rendezvous at the Swarthmore event.
Oh yes, and the playlist for today, still more Philip Glass, now:
