May 11 - Good to Be Alive, Isn't It?

Ambling

down

the

freeway,

in

no

particular

hurry,

because

the

dentist

is

at

the

other end -- and while we love Melissa, she still has her role to play.  The usual, and then not so, morality play.  Nitrous oxide plays tricks on the mind, swimming downward into a tunnel, not sure if there is any earthly future, but somehow the hygienist's words eventually clear the situation, and life goes on.  Quite a strange experience, and a bit of suggestion selling, too.  Make further appointments (lamentably, all is not quite well, after all these years),

then hit the road,

further

south

to

the

Panoramic

Highway

and

Mountain

Home

Inn,

scoping

out

possibilities for the big birthday blow-out next weekend (George 85, Bette 80, Mark 55, Sorrel 50, Crystal 25).

Such a good time,

that cannot resist keeping it going,

with

a

panorama

around

the

Panoramic

to Stinson Beach,

then further south along the Coast Road past

Red

Rock,

the rocks of

Steep

Ravine

Camp,

Lone

Tree

Canyon,

Cold Stream,

and

Muir Beach Overlook to the

Pelican Inn.

Easier to get the attention of the gardener than the maitr'd,

although the

bartender eventually friendlily delivers,

then

back

upslope

via

Green

Gulch

and over to the populated side of Marin,

north on 101 to Celia's for paper-grading and more reservationing.

The word from G&B is: Celia's, which will no doubt be delightful, as always.

Pick up drycleaning thereafter (though items go mysteriously awol -- either there or later, not sure), swing by the post-box,

then head northward again,

east on 37, diverting up

Lakeville Road,

116's scenic vaulting of

Sonoma Mountain,

across the Valley,

up

and

over

(past

Stornetta's)

the

Mayacamas to

Napa,

amongst

vineyards /

marshes /

eucalypti /

statuary,

attempting Jameson Canyon,

succeeding via American (the lower reaches of which, development seemingly never ceases...

one

can

only

hope

for the upper),

80

past

all

the

usual

suspects, and home for a holiday of Duo Sonata No. 2 pdf page 9, and composition of The Decameron and Psalm 96 (100 and system 2).
